Famous Recliners from TV

What is your Dad's favorite possession? With Father's Day arriving quickly it's a question many people will be pondering. For a lot of father's out there it's their ultra-comfortable recliner. Shofer's Furniture features a wide varieties of recliners. To celebrate Dad's passion, we thought that we'd take a look at some recliners that have been made famous through TV. Here they are in no particular order.

Friends

Joey and Chandler's Recliners

As made famous in Friends season two. Arguably two of the most underrated pieces of furniture in TV history. Joey and Chandler spend two days lounging in their chairs, not even getting up to change the channel, much to the distain of the rest of the Friends.

With recliners you find at Shofer's, Dad could also sit in his chair for two days straight… not that we'd recommend it.

Frasier

Martin Fraiser's "Vintage" Recliner

Fraiser is a man of high society, and his father's recliner grates at him throughout the run of the popular Cheers spin-off. Still there's something to admire about this piece of furniture that continues to be comfortable, even if it requires some duct tape.

Tom Cruise on Oprah

Oprah's "Tom Cruise" Couch

Next let's take a step away from sitcoms and into the real world, if you can call it that. This couch marks the moment Tom Cruise went from #1 Action Star in the world to America's favorite Looney Tune. But it's hard not to marvel at the durability Oprah's couch.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons Couch

The Simpsons couch has been part of our life since 1989. In those 20+ years, we've seen the couch at the beginning of every episode, the center of hundreds of different "couch gags."

Seinfeld

George Costanza's Art of Seduction Couch

As made famous in the the Seinfeld episode "The Package." George in his skibbies is a poster that made us laugh at the time, and has gone on to adorne the walls of dorm rooms across the country. Rest assured that a recliner from Shofer's could even make George look his best.
