Shofer's Side Door Sale Live Blog

The world has changed a little bit (4:58pm)

I think my friend Eric put it best, "The world has changed." That was his Facebook post to me about the world's first live blog featured around a furniture sale. (Will some one call head of the Guinness Book and confirm this for me?) And I think that Shofer's might have changed the world a (very) little.

This is why Shofer's is involved with social media… we want to connect with you more than just when you're at the store.  I got some great feedback via email through out the day, and I hope those of you that have been checking in had a little bit of fun too.

This is going to be my last blog posting of the day, but I just wanted to make sure that you know that Shofer's is hosting extended hours until 9 tonight. There's still time to get here, and I'm serious when I say that it is well worth it.

The Shofer's Anniversary sale starts tomorrow and runs though Monday. Everything in our showroom will be 40-60% off, and we have extended the extra 10% off red-tag items promotion through Monday as well.

My favorite section of the store (3:35pm)

The sale is really rocking here, it truly is the busiest that I have seen Shofer's since I started working here. Best of all everyone has been so friendly. I've encountered at least half a dozen "Hello's" from customers as I've been walking around the showroom.  Which got me to thinking, which area of the showroom is my favorite? Well, it's the leather gallery located on our 3rd Floor South wing. And I've prepared a short tour through the section to give you a taste. And remember, everything you see in the video is 45-65% off until 9pm tonight!

Back from lunch break (1:11pm)

Well, I just got back from my lunch break (Papa John's Pizza if you are interested) and I was thinking about two things.

1. You can see the traffic driving into our (free, lighted!) parking lot. For a few minutes it seemed like every other car was turning in. The word has gotten out about the Side Door Sale.

2. When you come in the Side Door, there is a display set up with lamps and accessories going at outrageous prices. Come and look though this table right when you get inside the building. It would be a great way to put the finishing touches on a room without putting a dent in your wallet.

Checking the first sale of the day (11:48am)

Curiosity just got the cat, and I went to go and check to see what the first sale of the day was. It was an order for two wing chairs and an accent table sold to a couple from Baltimore. The wing chairs were by Sam Moore and the accent table was from Pulaski Furniture. I'm sure they are going to enjoy this furniture for a long time… especially because they saved a ton of money!

I went around and took some pictures of the outside of the building to give you a sense of what the sale looks like. It's like nothing else we do here at Shofer's. The front doors are locked and customers walk around the building to our side door for access to the sale. It really does look like we are boarded up to re-tag for our sale starting tomorrow. The anticipation is killing me (9:33am)

Welcome to the Side Door Sale Live Blog. If you can't make it to Shofer's, this is the best way to experience this sale. (Which by the way you should come down to, you'll save an extra 5% off our Anniversary Sale prices, not to mention an extra 10% off all red-tag items)

I walked in through our side door this morning, and there was already a customer waiting in the parking lot to get into the sale. This was impressive to me, considering we don't open up our doors until 10am. She must really have something special in mind if she wants to be the first though the door. (And who can blame her.)
